Learn about baby's development

The baby's Development Phase

Newborn Stage
Lesson 1
Newborn Stage
Let's analyze baby's "now" and "soon"!
Newborn Stage

A newborn baby's skin is very delicate. Plus, if his bottom stays wet due to urine or runny bowel movements, he is prone to getting a rash. So choose diapers that absorb quickly, and change baby's diaper frequently. Baby's belly button has not yet dried, so be gentle when changing diapers.

Lesson 2
Sleeping Stage
Baby will still spend most of his time sleeping, but he'll start to react to various things, such as by fluttering his arms and legs or staring at his own hands intently. His bowel movements are still runny and frequent, so you'll want to choose diapers that protect his skin from rashes.

Since baby is always lying down and his bowel movements are runny, they may leak out from the back.

Bowel movements are still runny.

Lesson 3
Sitting Up Stage
Lesson3 Sitting Up Stage
Sitting Up (Turning over ~ Sitting up) Stage

Once baby can turn over, his body will gain muscle strength and it won't be long until he can sit up on his own. Even if he can't do it without mama's help at first, soon he'll be able to stay sitting up using only his own power. His field of vision will expand, and baby's world will suddenly grow much larger! Turning over, sitting, and other body movements using the belly area will intensify.

He's moving a lot now, so you might wonder if his diaper is too tight?
The amount of urine is greater.

Lesson 4
Crawling Stage
Once baby becomes able to crawl, his curiosity flourishes. Moving around by himself is fun, and even during diaper changes he won't be still for you. Understanding baby's desire to play, it's helpful if mama can change diapers in a flash now!

Even though you're pretty sure baby's wet, he keeps running around!
He gets tired from moving a lot and sleeps well now.

Newborn Stage
Lesson 5
Standing ~ Walking Stage
And now, that long-awaited moment when baby stands up. Then when he can stand up on his own, he'll soon start to toddle around. Watching your child's first step is like seeing the evolution of humanity with your own eyes. In order to let him enjoy lots of walking, try to get outside a lot. To make sure he can move without being bothered by his diaper, choose a cloth-like diaper that's soft and flexible, and baby is sure to be happy too.

Even though he's walking around, his bottom is big and looks like it makes moving difficult.

Once he starts walking, he sweats a lot.

Lesson 6
Further Stage
Baby's further/growth stage

A child whose physical growth is fast often becomes able to do things earlier, too. He may be able to climb stairs or jump and surprise mama. But wait for more emotional and verbal growth until he finishes toilet training. When a child's body is big, you tend to treat him/her like a big boy or big girl, but this is the time when emotional dependence on mama is at its prime. He'll only need mama's care for a little while longer. Enjoy this brief time until he can separate from mama and go to the toilet all by himself.

A big body means a large amount of urine.
A big body means the diaper's elastic leaves marks around the legs
