Understanding the problems behind frequent urination

It is very important for us to drink water frequently such that our body gets ample chance to flush out toxins. However, urinations, if too frequent can be a point of concern as well.
It might be a symptom of various other diseases, disorders and conditions. What we might not realise off hand is that the conditions could be physical as well as psychological.
While frequent urination could just be a habit, it is advised that all other probable concerns are eliminated.
For instance, while most people can go without having to urinate all night as they sleep, some others need to urinate frequently during the night too.
If the frequent urination is not usual, consult a doctor with your past medical history, urine analysis result and few tests like imaging, neurological, urine analysis and urodynamic tests.

Few of the most common causes of frequent urination are:

1. Stroke
2. Anxiety
3. Diabetes
4. Medication
5. Pregnancy
6. Kidney infection, including bladder stones and urinary problems
7. Cancer of the bladder or Dysfunction of bladder
8. Prostate problems or Enlarged prostate or Prostate infection

Try the following at your end when faced with the problem:

1. Dietary Changes: Change your diet and eat foods that don't cause constipation or overactive bladder. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods.

2. Kegel Exercises: Try to include the habit of doing the Kegel exercises regularly. The exercise involves strengthening the muscles in the pelvis and the urethra. It is important that you learn the correct way to do the kegel exercise.

3. Keep a tab: Monitor your fluid intake along with monitoring how frequently the urination is.
