Gross Motor Developmental Chart – Child Development

Gross Motor Developmental Chart – Child Development

Gross motor skills are required in order to control the large muscles of the body for walking, running, sitting, crawling, and other activities. These skills develop over a short period of time, predominantly during childhood. Helping a child develop his/her gross motor skills requires providing them with enough opportunities to practice and also a lot of patience. Children reach developmental milestones at different rates, so parents and others need to closely watch the child’s current development level before fine tuning their skills.
